Rapper and producer Elom Adablah, better known by his stage as E.L, has admitted that he was substantially penalized for using a choral song called “Efa Wo Ho B3n” as a sample.

E.L said he was being sued for the improper use of the intellectual property two years after he debuted the hit song.

He said in an interview on Property FM as reported by Mynewsgh that “That one they sued me and I had to pay some heavy block but it has made me learn my lesson”.

The former Artiste of the Year claimed that he has now learned better to stick to using only the standard slang of the streets in his songs.

He made the remarks in reference to his latest song, Chop Life, in which he sung a few Ga phrases that he claimed were not owned by any organization.

“So with the lines that I used in my Chop Life song as for that one yawa no go come. As for that one it’s our street rhymes that I used in my song so it doesn’t really belong to anybody and my mum is a Ga native woman,” he explained

He posited “So I feel I’m entitled to use some of our jargons and our street anthem in my songs and it’s something we grew up singing but nobody came to hold anybody’s neck.”
